My First Anniversary!!

One year since my first (and heretofore last) blog post, and what a year it's been! There have been some definite highs and lows here on the blog, the first post being a high, and everytime you have stopped by since hoping to find a new post would have been a low. The I thought for this fine occasion I'd talk about my MFA thesis exhibition. It's almost there, the reception will be tomorrow, Thursday the 22nd of May, from 6 to 9 pm at the Hall Street Gallery here in Savannah. I'm pretty relieved that it's almost over, as it has been a great experience, but a lot of hard work which will be nice to have a little break from. From here, Melissa and I hope to eventually make our way out west to be closer to our family and friends. Until next time (May 21st 2009?), regards.

Where to Begin?

Seriously, if you have any ideas at all I'm open to them. They don't not call me "Mr. Prolific Writer" for nothing. I'm not exactly known for long winded rants, heated arguments(unless heated or particularly hypoglycemic), or slowly meandering circular conversations. In my opinion, the best thing that we could do at this juncture is to be honest and up front with each other about what we can get out of this new relationship. You know that I can't promise to write here super regularly, and I know that you cannot promise to read here all too often. While that's not a lot, it is at least something, and that's more than most writer/reader's have--an agreement, a foundation upon which we can foster a healthy relationship. The words of the poet come to mind:

"She says we gotta hold on, to what we've got, it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not, we've got each other and that's a lot for love, we'll give it a shot" -J.B. Jovi

It is on that sentiment that I'd like to end this first of hopefully at least several postings, "we'll give it a shot".
